The Waihiki Island Council held a competition to find the best design to advertise the main tourist route through the island.
I came up with this design to reflect the first time I went to Waihiki Island, I recall coming off the ferry and following one long main road to get to my destination. It so happened that this same road was the route the Counsel wished to highlight for visitors. It served as the main artery for the whole Island and my design reflects this, the Koru designs within the designs reflecting an aspect of Moari and also representing the wake of the ferry as it crossed over to Waihiki Island.
